Thousands of euro were raised in Tobinstown recently in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). A vintage car and tractor run in memory of Daniel Lawlor Jnr, who died suddenly in 2009 at just 28 years of age, drew a huge crowd and raised a phenomenal amount for the worthy charity.
So far €4,500 has been raised from the run, which took place from Tobinstown Cross on Sunday 21 October, but the money is still flooding in, according to organisers. The final tally will be totted and presented to representatives of the charity at a special night in the Wagon Wheel pub, Knockananna on Saturday 17 November.
The Lawlor family from Ballykilduff, Tullow who organized the vintage run for the second time, were “delighted” with the response from participants and supporters. A great day was had by all, and refreshments, cakes and more were enjoyed at John Doyle’s in Tobinstown after the run.
The family would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support, especially their extended family and friends who gave very willingly of their time to help make the day such a success. They also paid special tribute to John Doyle, who allowed them to make use of his premises and to everyone who sponsored raffle prizes and contributed in any way.
