Interested in taking part in Flora’s mini marathon this year? Sign up to raise funds for CRY and kick start your healthy 2010!!

Sign up to take part in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon on behalf of CRY, start training to kick start your healthy new year.

The Flora Women’s Mini Marathon takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 7th June 2010 @ 3.00pm and is the biggest all women’s event of its kind in the world. It has grown steadily in numbers since it began in 1983 with its popularity increasing significantly over the last few years. Last year was a great success for CRY and this year we aim to get even more on board and more money raised.

The earlier you sign up the more time you have to prepare yourself for this event. Taking place in June means signing up in January gets you 5 months to get in shape. What a better way to get in shape after the festive season and all for a great cause! So if you like having fun, getting fit and raising money for families all over Ireland give us a call.

The marathon is 10K in length and begins and Fitzwilliam Square and finishes at St Stephens Green. Entry to the event opens on March 4th at www.florawomensminimarathon.ie and the closing date for all entries is April 27th – or alternatively when the maximum number of entries is reached so the sooner you sign up the better! Participants must be at least 14 years of age on the on mini marathon day and the entry fee is €15 for joggers or walkers using no timing chip or  €22 for runners and  fast joggers which includes a timing Chip.

The funds raised on behalf of mini marathon participants funds are used to, among other CRY activities support the CRYP Centre, which officially opened in November 2008.   The CRYP Centre receives no subsidies from the government and is only funded by fundraising activities and generous donations that are required to keep the centre running. Fundraising is crucial on an ongoing basis to cover the running costs of the Charity and the Centre.  CRY does not receive any financial support from the State. All its services and those at the CRYP Centre are free regardless of a person’s financial circumstances.Further details and to get a sponsorship form, contact Lucia on 01 452 5482 or [email protected]
