Fiona Byrne, Rainbows Ireland and Elaine Whelan, CRY Ireland, very proudly leading out on the Galway Grief Sherpa Network (GGSN), “Living with Loss” event at the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway last Thursday evening, as part of the Irish Hospice Foundation’s National Bereavement Network Programme sponsored kindly by Conneely Funeral Directors, Galway. A huge thank you to Nicole Forster and Dearbhla Ni Mhaolagain from the IHF for all their support in bringing this event to Galway. To all the 28 organisations that make up the GGSN and who helped create a sense of support and solidarity within the room on Thursday night, a very special thank you. This event was to offer people in Galway city, county and surrounding areas, who are on their own personal journeys of loss and grief, a sense of what supports are available to them in the Galway area. A huge thank you to our own Liam Herlihy and Cuana Kerr for sharing their own personal stories remembering Niamh and Peter and to all the wonderful panel members and our Guest Speakers Kathie Stritch and Dr. Suzanne Mc Clean for making this a very memorable event.
