Signed up & on board for our 2018 Camino trip are brothers Brian and Brendan Ruth with their cousin Alison Cronin.
Here Brian tells us why they’re choosing to walk the French Way #RememberingDamien
” As most of you know it’s been nearly 4 years since we lost our wonderful brother Damien to sudden death syndrome. Losing Damien has & continues to be absolutely devastating for our family, Damien’s fiancé Jessica and his many friends. We all miss him dearly.
Shortly after Damien’s passing we were put in touch with CRY who have supported our family throughout this immense loss. CRY help to raise awareness of the condition known as Sudden Cardiac Death or Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) through media campaigns and information meetings, provide free counselling and support for families affected by sudden death or cardiac conditions. CRY also support the Centre for Cardiovascular Risk in Younger Persons (CRYP). They are 100% dependent on charitable donations to carry out this vital work.
Whilst our amazing sister Amy has been a great campaigner in organising an annual soccer tournament that runs every St Stephens day to help raise funds for CRY I have always said that I needed and wanted to do something to help also.
So here it is, I’m going to walk the 110km Camino this September with CRY and luckily, I’m going to be joined by my brother Brendan and our cousin Alison.
We would be extremely grateful if you would like to support us in raising funds for CRY. You can do so by clicking on the link https://cry.ie/index.php/donate/ and selecting the “Damien Ruth 2018 Camino sponsorship” in the drop-down menu.
Thank you in advance for all your support.
Brian Ruth
