The Damien Ruth Memorial Soccer tournament was held for the third consecutive year on St. Stephens Day at the Clonmel Town F. C. Complex, in Clonmel Co. Tipperary. Eighteen teams competed on the day.
The Damien Ruth Memorial Cup was won by the Old Bridge Team captained by Martin Kennedy, and the Damien Ruth Memorial Shield was won by the Senior Honeyview Team captained by Del Kerton.
On behalf of Cry and The Ruth family we would like to thank everyone that helped out on the day, all of the players that participated in the matches and raised money through getting sponsorship and paying to enter their team in the tournament, Clonmel Town F.C. for kindly facilitating the matches, and Chrissies Bar who continue to sponsor the event each year.
A big thank you also to the main organizer of the tournament, Gerry Cunningham.
An amazing €3500 was raised on the day and has been donated to Cry Ireland in memory of Damien Ruth.
