Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) was presented with a cheque for €1,000 by Dublin Bus employees at Ringsend Depot recently.
The funding will be used in the Centre for Cardiovascular risk in Younger Persons at the Adelaide & Meath Hospital, Tallaght.
Dublin Bus received the Corporate Endeavour Award along with €1,000 at South Dublin County Council’s Community Endeavour Awards, for its commitment to supporting community activity.
However kind-hearted staff at Dublin Bus decided to give the award back to the South Dublin Community and asked employees to vote for the organization which they wanted to receive the grant.
We were delighted to be honoured with the Corporate Endeavour Award but we took the opportunity to pay it forward and support the communites we serve. The donation will be put to good use by CRY, to continue their great work and we wish them the best with their endeavors.
Chief Executive of Dublin Bus, Ray Coyne
Lucia Ebbs, Fundraising Manager for Cry, added: “We were delighted to have been nominated and to go along to Ringsend Depot and meet some of the employees at the presentation.CRY relies on fundraising by families and supporters like Dublin Bus employees. Donations like these are vitally important to help us to continue to support he work carried out in the Centre for Cardiovascular Risk in Younger Persons (CRYP Centre) at Tallaght Hospital.
