Carlow People
Tuesday 17 July 2012
A Carlow woman hopes to brew up some funds for a worthy cause when she hosts afternoon tea at her home.
Mary Keenan of Ballinacarrig House is inviting everyone to come along to her home and enjoy, tea, coffee and entertainment to help raise funds for CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young, on Sunday next, July 29, from 3pm.
CRY is a national organization founded in March 2002 by parents who had experienced the effects of sudden and unexplained death within their families. They are a self supporting registered charity who do not receive government funding of any kind.
Support will help raise awareness of cardiac risk in the young media awareness campaigns and public information meetings. It will go towards a national screening centre where families and individuals at risk can be evaluated and provide counselling and support to families affected.
