Paul Galvin’s stunning girlfriend Louise Duffy has revealed she won’t be taking any advice from her sporty other half ahead of the Flora Women’s mini marathon.
The 27 year old says she is more than capable of putting together her own training plan ahead of the race.
Asked if her Kerry GAA partner was helping out, she replied: “No, not at all.” “We’re not in the same league at all, fitness wise.”
The Mayo native has been dating her fashion forward partner for the past eight months but the pair have been doing their best to keep the romance out of the spotlight.
Broadcaster Louise, who was given her own early-morning Today FM show a year ago, is now building up her training regime ahead of the forthcoming challenge, which she’s doing in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
“I live just by the canal so it’s nice to jog up and down here every evening which is lovely,” she said. “I have donor the 10k before for the Special Olympics and I did it live on Ian Dempsey’s show so I had to do it while talking to him every now and then.
“So that was a bit of added pressure. It does take a bit to build up to it, but a bit of preparation in advance and I’ll get there,” she explained.
She still manages to find time for a bit of socializing during the week, despite her achingly early starts: “I go to bed at about 10pm but I have a little siesta during the day. Otherwise, you have no life if you have to be in bed so early. As I live so near to town, there’s always action so it’s hard to go to bed early”.
