A heart doctor is to run a marathon to raise money to fund a centre for cardiac risk in young persons.
Dr. Deirdre Ward has acted as consultant cardiologist and co-director at the CRYP in Tallaght Hospital since the centre opened in 2007.
She will run in the Dublin City Marathon to try and raise badly needed funds.
She said “We are still in need of funding to keep the free programme running”.
“Many of our patients and families work very hard to raise funds for us – I decided it was time to do my bit”.
