Paris Marathon – 10th April 2011
On the 10th April 2011 at 8.45am. 40,000 runners will take to the streets of Paris to compete in one of the largest European marathons. Dating back from 1896 this annual event attracts contestants from across the continent, raising hundreds of thousands for their chosen charities. We implore you to pick CRY and take up the challenge to help raise funds for this great cause.
Over the course of your 42,195km run, you will follow the River Seine, pass the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Place de la Bastille, to name just a few. Thousands of supporters will line the streets to support you and if that’s not enough the occasional pit stop of red wine and cheese ought to provide you with enough strength to stride or stagger forward.
To register you are recommended to apply as early as possible, as places are limited. You will be asked to outline your ability and target goal so as to be allocated a colour bib that matches, accordingly, your requirements and placing. This also will reflect on the price of your application in the line up for the start of the race which can vary from €60-€95.
If daunted by the size of the race, on the 9th April 2011 there is a Breakfast Race that varies in length, from 2km, aimed at children and the 5km. All are invited to participate and soak in the atmosphere of a Marathon and maybe the following year or years you may take up the extra 40,000km!
