Back to Nature for the Coole 10K Road Run
What might well be the most scenic 10km road run/walk in the country will take place in Coole Park Gort on Sunday, April 17 at 11am.
This event is being organized by Ardrahan Defibrillator Committee and all proceeds will go towards the cost of training 30 local people in the locality.
The Ardrahan Defibrillator Committee was set up in 2008 after the death of a local boy Kyle McCrann from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome and the Committee wish to create awareness of the importance of having trained defibrillators operators in every community.
Cardio Vascular Disease is Ireland’s biggest killer, with in the region of 10,000 deaths each year. Six thousand are from sudden cardiac arrest and 70% of these occur outside of hospital. It is imperative that sports clubs and organizations are equipped and prepared to respond in the context of these statistics.
Entry to this event is online on the following website www.runireland.com and you can also contact the Race Director Gabriel Gardiner at 086 8389626 for details.
