Beyond VUS: A Familial MYH7 Variant in Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Dr Liam Fitzpatrick and the CRY team presented their research at the ESC Myocardial and Pericardial Disease Conference 2026 in Berlin.
The poster explored the co-segregation of an MYH7 variant of uncertain significance (VUS) with dilated cardiomyopathy across a multigenerational Irish family. The findings highlight the challenges of genetic variant classification and the potential clinical implications of reclassification, particularly for cascade screening, risk stratification and genetic counselling.
