Register now to join the 820 ladies who participated and crossed the finishing line in the Galway Mini Marathon in 2010. The marathon covers 10km along the famous Galway Bay and commences around the last weekend in June (date to be confirmed). Whether you’re a serious runner, jogger or walker the marathon doesn’t discriminate, bar being male and welcomes everyone to take part.
For participating you receive a medal and tee-shirt alongside your final finishing time that will be chipped for accuracy. The race is AA1 registered so for the more advanced runner; you get an accurate gauge of your official running time.
The National C.R.Y.P Centre in Tallaght Hospital was opened in 2008 and has remained the main focus for CRY Ireland during 2010 and remains so for 2011. Fundraising is crucial for the centre as they receive no funding from the Government and rely on private contributions to help cover the costs of the Centre. There is no charge made to the patient regardless of their financial or insurance basis and with 5,000 people suffering sudden cardiac deaths in Ireland each year, of which 60 to 80 are under the age of 35 years, the demand far out ways the resources.
We implore you to pick CRY and take up the challenge to help raise funds for this great cause. Sponsorship packs will be provided.
