Did you join in on the life-stream on Friday 5th June with musician and former Leinster Rugby Player Mikey Smyth on Facebook for CRY? It was a fantastic fun filled night and a huge success with families & friends joining in from Dublin, Newry, Malaga and New Jersey to name a few! Thank you to everyone who got involved & donated so generously.
Before Covid-19 reached Ireland, Mikey would visit more than twenty nursing homes each week to entertain the elderly. When restrictions tightened, the Dublin man made the decision to entertain people by live-streaming his gigs on Facebook. An amazing guy giving so much of his time to help raise funds for charities who are also suffering greatly with reduced fundraising capabilities.
Mikey has been live-streaming for a different charity each week with an auction of an item donated in taking place to raise further funds. For CRY’s live-stream, Golf Digest Ireland generously donated a signed Graeme McDowell golf top – purchased for €275.00.
Mark in Golf Digest added in some amazing extra items on the night – Four separate 4 Balls in Concra Wood, Powerscourt, Mount Juliet & the Heritage! Bidding was fast & furious for those!
The incredible sum of €2,214 was raised for CRY Ireland on Friday – week 9 of the gigs, bringing the total raised by Mikey for 9 charities to €14,964!
Mikey is supported by his wife Victoria at the gigs and a special mention to Victoria for all her work on the night (and every night so far). Thank you so much to Mikey and Victoria for their kindness and generosity! We were delighted when Mikey mentioned on Friday night that he’d consider choosing CRY again in the future – we hope we can work together again.
We wish Mikey continued success – for now, he is available for Neighbourhood Rock, Birthdays, Driveway Parties & Father’s Day Celebrations – call him on 083 4060505 and we’d highly recommend him.
