Huge crowds took part in the fun run/walk to remember the late Conor Hogan which took place in Tullamore Harriers last Saturday.
Last year, people in Tullamore and surrounding areas were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Conor, Derryhill, Ballydaly.
Conor, a son of Seamus and Martina Hogan, died suddenly at the young age of just 15 at his home in June 2011.
Saturday’s event raised funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which was founded in 2002 by parents who experienced the sudden and unexplained death in their family.
Cry’s main focus in 2012 is to help fund the screening centre based in Tallaght Hospital where families who have lost a young person to sudden cardiac death can receive support or where a young person who is experiencing symptoms can be evaluated.
An information day on CRY and a collection point will be in the Bridge Centre on this Saturday, June 9th.
More information from Conor Hogan’s mother, Martina on 086 1203777 or by logging onto www.cry.ie.
Conor was a very popular young man who was well known in Tullamore and schoolmates from both Colaise Choilm and Scoil Bhride formed a guard of honour at his funeral.
