The Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) Centre in Tallaght Hospital and the Irish Heart Foundation were among the winners at this week’s Astellas Changing Tomorrow Awards.
The CRY team was awarded first place in the category “Changing Tomorrow Through Hope” for its efforts to address the needs of those young people who might be at risk of sudden cardiac death.
Commenting on the award, Dr Deirdre Ward, Consultant Cardiologist at Tallaght said she hoped the initiative would be replicated in other parts of the country.
Other winners included Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Northgate Public Services and Cork University Maternity Hospital.
