We are delighted to announce our Camino for CRY 2022 โ ๐ฃ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ช๐ถ๐ฒ๐ท๐ธ ๐๐ธ๐ป๐ฝ๐พ๐ฐ๐พ๐ฎ๐ผ๐ฎ
Is the Camino on your #BucketList?ย ย If it is and youโd like to raise funds while undertaking the challenge please consider joining #teamCRY with our Ambassador Aidan OโMahonyย who will lead the group when we walk the Camino Portuguese from Tui to Santiago de Compostela.
We fly out on Friday 23rd September for one week walking the final 117Km of the Camino Portuguese from Tui to Santiago de Compostela.
Aidan OโMahony told us โThe Camino offers an escape, and an opportunity to disconnect. It is a way to get away from your daily life and connect with nature while also helping to raise money for CRY at the same time. In 2019 when I led the #teamCRY I was so moved by the stories I heard on the trip from those affected by Sudden Cardiac Death and how CRY has helped them. Friendships were formed that I know will last a lifetime. I am thrilled to be taking part again this year and would like for people to join me.โ

A little about this yearโs Route:
The Camino Portuguese Route from Tui to Santiago de Compostela is a fantastic pilgrimage route. One of the most popular sections of the Camino de Santiago network, this route has plenty to offer.
- Discover the beauty of Galicia from the Portuguese border to Santiago’s soaring cathedral
- Walk through beautiful and historic cities and experience a glimpse of rural Spanish life on the Way of Saint James
- The region is known for its incredibly fresh seafood, in particular its oysters and scallops, as well as a bounty of fresh fruit and veggies
- Wash down your meals with a glass of local Albarino wine or two from the vineyards just off the Camino
- Visit the castle cathedral in Tui, walk across Roman bridges, past tiny stone churches, through woods, and to quaint hamlets
- Spend some time exploring Pontevedra with its fantastically preserved medieval centre and 13th-century church before heading inland through lush forests and farmland to Santiago de Compostela!
Walk the world’s most well-known pilgrimage and experience the cultural, culinary, and historical gem that is the Camino de Santiago! Join the CRY fundraising team on this incredible guided walk to raise funds and awareness for their important work.
The Portuguese Way (#CaminoPortuguese) is one of the most popular Camino routes and is especially great for foodies and history buffs. At the end of the walk, participants will receive their “Compostela” certificate to show that they have walked the Camino.
This Camino is full of wonderful things to see and do, and you will be walking with a group of new #teamCry friends as well as an expert Camino guide. Completing the Camino is an empowering and life-changing experience that offers a wonderful sense of camaraderie and achievement.
