flowerThank You

We have dedicated this area to pay special tribute to the extremely generous people who have made a contribution to CRY. It is because of these amazing people that CRY is able to keep our doors open as we do not receive any government funding. All at CRY would like to express our sincerest thanks to everyone who has provided us with support.

Mark Heffernan Trust Raise Funds for CRY

Shane Heffernan 2017

Pictured this week in the CRYP Centre, is Shane Heffernan, from the Mark Heffernan Trust presenting Dr. Deirdre Ward with €2,500.00

About the Trust

The Trust was established in 2010 by the family and friends of Mark Heffernan, who passed away in his sleep at his apartment in GMIT on 21st January 2008. He was only 23 years old, and had just completed his mid-term exams.

The work of The Trust will, it is hoped, ultimately benefit our youth, while highlighting this tragic and silent killer, and in doing so, will honour the memory of a remarkable young man who cared so much for those around him.

To date the Mark Heffernan Trust has deployed over 75 defibrillators to date and has provided training for a variety of user groups. In addition, training in CPR continues to be rolled out to schools and colleges across the country, as well as our ongoing support to cardiac screening and genetic research. Their mission continues.

Heartfelt thanks from Cry Ireland to Martin, Kate and Shane and the Mark Heffernan Trust for their continued support of our work.

Camino for Cry

Photos taken ahead of the departure of #TeamCry for the 2017 Camino on Saturday 16th September at Dublin Airport - Huge thanks to Declan Doyle, photographer for capturing some fantastic moments ahead of the group's departure for Santiago.

Katrina Connors along with her sisters Jacqui Erskine and Denise Connors were part of the group who travelled, remembering Dion - Declan & Katrina's son. Marie Greene led the team, remembering her son Peter, Anto Hegarty walked the Camino in memory of his sisters Clarissa and Grace, Marian Finn completed her fourth Camino while remembering her son Andrew, Greg and Elsa Leonard joined remembering their son Francis. Marie's sister Madeleine Griffin met the group in Santiago and Leslie Benner and Peter Kieran also chose Cry for their Camino Journey. #TeamCry successfully completed the French Way walking the final 115K of the Camino arriving to Santiago on Friday 22nd September 2017.

An emotional journey and a tough week for anyone who travels but an amazing personal achievement and memories that will last a lifetime. Walking into Santiago at the end of the week and to see the Botafumeiro in the Cathedral completes the week. Heartfelt thanks from Cry Ireland to each of you for being our Fantastic Families.
