Abseiling Event in Aid of CRY

Abseil 2b     Abseil 4a

A heartfelt thanks to Karl Thompson who organised an abseiling event on 7th June in memory of and celebrating the life of his wife Linda who died suddenly on March 31st, 2016.

Thirty colleagues, friends and family completed the abseil - a tough challenge with The Adventure Agency in Dalkey, County Dublin. A personal note from Karl:

I would like to acknowledge what a special effort these wonderful people made on the day as most had never challenged themselves in this way before and it can be daunting the first time you complete an abseil from such a height

The incredible sum of €1,660.00 was raised and donated to Cry - huge thanks to each of the group - West City & N for their support of Karl and their generosity in fundraising for Cry - very proud to have each of you on #teamCry.

Speaking on the day, Lucia Ebbs at CRY said:

We are so thrilled with the turnout here today to support the Charity and those affected as we depend heavily on this fundraising event every year to ensure we can continue to provide the free screening service in Tallaght Hospital.

"Everyone on #teamCry taking part today in aid of CRY Ireland have been affected by SADS in some way and we really appreciate them taking part and helping us raise money to continue our work  and to support each other. We are so proud and thankful to everyone who ran the Mini Marathon for CRY Ireland today."

SRC MUSIC Showcase 2017

Tuesday 6th June 2017

SRC ARMAGH 2017

The students of the Music Department, Southern Regional College, Armagh are organising a Music Showcase on Tuesday 6th June starting at 7.00pm at the Marketplace Theatre, Armagh.

This event takes place annually and it is a chance for the students to experience live performance in a professional environment. The students organise the whole event; from the technical set up, sound, performance, marketing and promotion. The concert enables the students to experience a ‘real life’ scenario.

THE QUIET GENERATION – WORLD PREMIERE

The Quiet Generation is a stunning concept album & performance compiled by the Music students of Southern Regional College Armagh, which features clever concepts about consumerism, social media, the generational gap and celebrating our differences.

We would like to invite you to come along and see just how talented they are, as well as raising money for our chosen charity CRY Ireland (www.cry.ie) in memory of Kevin Fegan.

The admission fee is £5, we also have something very special on sale; during their studies the level 3 second year students have composed, written and recorded a unique piece of work which they will perform on the night, the CD is available at the event £5  (all proceeds to CRY).

Last year we raised over £1000 and each year the students aim higher but we need your support to achieve this.

Please come along and enjoy a night of entertainment which celebrates the students’ achievements.
