The O’Herlihy and O’Donovan families gathered together once again along with the communities of Monagea, Newcastle West to take part in a 10k run/walk/cycle on Saturday 3rd May 2014.This amazing event was held in memory of Niamh Herlihy and Darra O’Donovan who both died suddenly at the young ages of 21 and 16 respectively in 2011. All proceeds raised went to CRY.
The day saw cyclists take part in 130km and 80km circuits that started and finished at the Monagea community centre, while other people took part in the in a 10km run/walk event. Throughout the day a small army of volunteers, friends and relatives helped ensure that the event went off as smoothly as possible. Refreshment stalls handed out drinks and homemade sandwiches. A great day was had by all.
Michael and Marie Greene were presented with a cheque for €15,000. CRY are so grateful for the constant support from the O’Herlihy and O’Donovan friends and family.
