Race around the west for CRY
The Ronnhill International Connemarathon offers a unique experience to partake in a marathon across Ireland’s famous scenic countryside. The course meanders past bogs, hills, lakes, and the Twelve Pin mountains rising up over the uninterrupted space of Killary Lough, through the quiet village of Leenane, around the Maam Turk Mountains and all the way back up to Maam Cross.
Participants have a choice of entering into a half, full or even an Ultra marathon (39.3miles), which is the first of its kind in Ireland.
The 2009 event attracted a sell out of 3,600 entries with representation from 31 countries worldwide. The International participants enjoy a hearty welcome from the Irish as they provide an enjoyable atmosphere with the blend of cultures, both, during the race and socially.
The 2010 Connemarathon is sold out as places are limited due to the narrow roads and the availability of buses to transport runner to the race starts. Therefore we advise that you book you place in the 2011 marathon early to avoid disappointment.
